Purple Heron

 

Purple Heron.
Uncommon resident in Singapore.
So far, I only sighted them in Ang Mo Kio Bishan Park.
Usually stand there in the river for quite some time.
So when we spotted them, they will be there for at least half a day.

Purple Heron.
Very big bird, about 2 to 3 feet tall.
Wonder why it is called the purple heron, it looks more orange brown to me.
