Mugimaki Flycatcher

An uncommon migrant from as far as from eastern Siberia, Sakhalin to northeastern China.

For season 2022 to 2023, I heard there were sightings at Dairy Farm nature park, and Singapore Botanic Gardens since end Nov 2022. I only visited SBG.

A small bird and if they perched within the heavy foilage, it will take a while for us to spot it.

2022 Nov 24 @ Singapore Botanic Gardens, Fragrance garden.
This time, I was not so lucky, only got 1 and only good shot here. There were 2 of them. Was here for a week, I gave up getting a good picture here cause the tree is not too tall and there were too many photographers whom chase too close.

During migratory season Dec 2021 to Jan 2022, I have spotted them in Jurong Lake Gardens, Singapore Botanic Gardens and Pasir Ris Park.

It was the 2nd day of this bird arrival. It was very hungry, looking for food from branch to branch. Not even bothered with all the birders looks from below.
The whole park was full of excitement when someone spotted him on the Dec 26th.
The bird did not stay long in the park. Was not here anymore when I visited on the Dec 29th.

It was perched very high behind leaves of this big tree.
Seems to be a female as it has pale colour.

The 2nd time spotted it. The 1st time was on 4th Dec but was not able to get a clear pic.

Understand a lot of birders came here to wait but it did not appear.
