Orange-bellied Flowerpecker

Orange-bellied Flowerpecker, Male.
Spotted at Singapore Quarry @ Feb 2023.
Though listed as a common resident in Singapore, it is not common to sight them. 
While all birders where waiting for the Grey-headed Fish eagle to dive, this flowerpecker loud calls directed all of us to take a picture of it. Because of this, everyone missed the dive by the GHFE behind us. LOL.

Though listed as a common resident in Singapore, it is not common to sight them. 
It was a lifer for me when I spotted it at Dairy Farm Nature park in Feb 2022. However, the bird is always far away, so no luck in capturing a good picture of it.

It was perched on a low flowering plant at the door of the toilet.
Imagine being greeted by a colourful bird when you just come out of the toilet? Caught unprepared.

Lucky the bird was super busy with its food. I tried not to move much, so not to scare off the bird.

The female is left here after the male left the spot (cause another birder got too close).

Noticed there is a faint yellow bellied for the female as well.
